Cuyo Island Revealed

CUYO: The town was first colonized by the Spaniards in 1622 by Count de San Agustin
and was made 2nd Capital of Palawan in 1873 to 1903. It is the oldest town in Palawan
that despite the progress has preserved its cultural heritage

The Invitation Programme for Sustainable Development of Marine Resources for BIMP-EAGA under JENESYS Programme of Japan International Cooperation Center provides a significant exposure for Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines Delegation. The 9-Day trip was fruitful and significant to achieve its goal in helping deepen the knowledge on Japan's Fishery policies, aquaculture,research and development, products and investments while at the same time nurture mutual understanding among young people who shall play important role in their respective countries. However, aside from various fisheries programs there are more to appreciate in Wakayama Prefecture in particular like natural scapes and sceneries, ancient temples and historical landmarks, hot springs, and tourism areas. Arts, culture, history, wildlife is something that can be explored more to deepen understanding about its people and environment.
